Rules

Four rules run on what the browser renders at mobile, tablet and desktop widths. Each finding has a stable id, a severity (high, medium or info), the components and source lines involved, and an expected value when there is one. Rescan a single rule with --rules.

Buttons

Distinct text-button and icon-button styles, with the components that render each one. A style is its background, text color, border, radius, padding, font size and weight, and shadow. The rule also reports pairs of styles that differ in only a value or two, and <button> elements written in page markup instead of a button component.

When a person picks a canonical variant in the panel, the other variants get it as their expected value.

Cards

Card-like containers that differ in background, border, radius, padding or shadow, near pairs, and cards built inline. Card detection is heuristic, so this rule is preliminary: treat it as a hint.

Colors

  • Colors outside the project's tokens, with the nearest token and the color difference (ΔE). A close token means "use this one"; a distant one means "add a token".
  • Tailwind default-palette colors in a project that declares its own palette.
  • Pairs of near-identical colors.
  • Hardcoded literals in the source that render in the scan, with the file and line.
  • Browser defaults, such as the black text of an unstyled <button>, are reported as info.

When a color matches a family of tokens, the suggestion names the family.

Scales

Radius, padding, gap, font size, font weight and shadow values compared to the scale your tokens declare, and the typography combinations in use.
